Rams News: Rams Shake Up Roster Ahead of High-Stakes Week 2 Clash Against Cardinals

Rams Make Bold Moves to Bolster Roster

In a stunning turn of events, the Los Angeles Rams have made several significant roster moves ahead of their pivotal Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams added a number of key players, including veteran safety Eric Weddle, while also releasing several others.

Weddle Signs With Rams

The most notable addition to the Rams' roster is undoubtedly Eric Weddle. The 37-year-old safety has been a Pro Bowl selection six times and was a key member of the Rams' Super Bowl run in 2018. Weddle's experience and leadership will be a valuable asset to a Rams defense that struggled in the season opener.

Other Roster Moves

In addition to signing Weddle, the Rams also added cornerback Troy Hill, offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe, and wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Hill is a versatile defensive back who can play both cornerback and safety, while Nsekhe is a veteran tackle who has started over 100 games in his career. Jackson is a former Pro Bowl selection who brings a deep threat to the Rams' offense. To make room for these additions, the Rams released cornerback David Long Jr., defensive end Chris Garrett, and wide receiver JJ Koski. Long Jr. and Garrett were both starters in the season opener, but the Rams decided to move on from them in favor of more experienced players.

Rams Look to Bounce Back

The Rams are coming off a disappointing 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. The Rams' defense was particularly poor, allowing over 400 yards of offense. The Rams will need to be much better on both sides of the ball if they want to beat the Cardinals in Week 2. The Cardinals are 1-0 after defeating the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. The Cardinals' offense is led by quarterback Kyler Murray, who is one of the most dynamic players in the NFL. The Rams' defense will have their hands full trying to stop Murray and the Cardinals' high-powered offense. The Rams and Cardinals will face off at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, September 18th. The game will be televised on FOX.
